First of all, save this post: we will update it regularly with all the news from Cambridge Pride 2022.
Cambridge Pride, sponsored by ARU, returns in Jesus Green, Cambridge, on Saturday the 9th of July, after being paused 2 years due to the Covid pandemic.
GlitterBeam is, for the first time, Official Media Partner. Every week organisers and artists will be on air to tell us everything about the fabulous day we are all waiting for.
Acts announced so far:
Dan Aura
DEJA
Ms Vivienne Lynsey
Terri Leavey
The Haus Of Fox
Daniel
Ris
Titania Trust
As confirmed by the Chairman, Paul Hyde-Clarke, during “The Morning Beam”, this year Cambridge Pride will be bigger and better than 2019. There will be a main stage with many performers starting at midday. There will also be a Dance Tent, and a Youth & Families Area where to find lots of activities for everyone. A Wellbeing Area will be available for those who wants to relax and maybe do some Yoga! There will also be a community Art Workshop, so bring your tools and get ready to create!
You can listen to the interview to Paul Hyde-Clark here:
For the first time there will be a Parade in The Park (around 3pm), and everyone is invited to join in!
Here’s the map for the day:
Food and Drinks will be provided by an LGBTQ+ History Cafe, a Rooftop Bar and many food and drinks stalls.
We will be there all day and broadcast live since the morning! Our Saturday lineup will be there, along with many of our presenters going around, playing games live on air and giving out GlitterBeam prizes! And you can also visit our table to enter an amazing raffle, to win a fantastic Crystal DAB Radio by I-Box
We will broadcast parts of the main stage performances and tell you live everything happening, so you can enjoy Cambridge Pride wherever you are, and maybe jump in the car and join us!
AFTER PARTY
Want to dance the night away to the best of today’s current pop/dance and cheesy classics? Head to the Union Cellar Bar for the PRISM event, open 9-2am, tickets just 6 in advance or 7.50 on the door with all profits going towards Cambridge Pride. The venue already hosts the monthly Dot Cotton Club so they love to support our community and are looking forward to welcoming you with DJs and drag shows galore, with our main stage acts The Haus of Fox giving you round two!
If a slightly harder vibe is more your thing, head to The Blue Moon’s ‘SHOW YOUR COLOURS’ event with plenty of Queer DJs playing techno/house/D&B ’til 2am, just 6 in advance or 10 on the door, with profits split between Cambridge Pride and the amazing Kite Trust!
If you’ve danced enough and want a more chilled evening, either head to the The Grain & Hop Store, Cambridge on Parkers Piece (who hosted our Eurovision Fundraiser!) for great food until 9pm or a fabulous cocktail and drink selection until late, or pop across the road from Jesus Green to the Fort St George pub for the Queer Beers social group, where the rear function room is reserved for drinks and a chat!
