Apple Fair Brogdale, Favesham
An exciting opportunity to discover rare and heritage apples you won’t find in supermarkets! Enjoy exploring a variety of apples grown in the orchards and taste flavours you rarely see in shops. The first 1,000 adult tickets include a FREE Apple Recipe Book, plus every adult ticket includes a FREE tote bag to fill with 4kg of hand-picked apples from the orchard. Date: 3-4 October Time: 10am-4pm (Last entry 3pm) Adult ticket (16yrs+) £16. Under 16 years FREE. Adult ticket includes a tote bag for you to fill with apples when you pick your own in the orchards (Bag and apples usually costs £12 but is free at Apple Fair). Hurry, first 1,000 tickets also get a beautiful apple recipe book (RRP £12). Bag and book to be collected on the day. Come and find out all about apples at our annual apple fair and pick your own fruit from the Brogdale Collections orchards during this special apple weekend in 2026. We have apple tastings, guided tours of the National Fruit Collection, guided tractor tours, apple displays, expert talks and free kids’ apple juicing and orchard crafts.

Canterbury Festival
With over 130 events taking place from 16 – 31 October, this autumn’s Canterbury Festival is a feast of incredible international artists, household names, exciting innovative performances, local talent, and writers and thinkers a-plenty. For five nights Canterbury Cathedral becomes the stunning setting for Australian circus company Circa’s unmissable show Eternity, which sees acrobats hanging from the 80ft high ceiling and performing incredible feats right in front of you. This one-of-a-kind festival experience visits Canterbury for a rare UK performance. Prepare for a bumper line-up including the Empathy Museum’s free immersive installation A Mile in My Shoes on the High Street, acclaimed vocal ensemble The Gesualdo Six with the chilling multi-media production Death of Gesualdo, classical (and viral) sensation Anna Lapwood performing on the Canterbury Cathedral organ for the first time, and experience world-class music from every angle in Britten Sinfonia’s Surround Sound Playlist featuring an array of performers including Tenebrae. Don’t miss hilarious improv from Paul Merton & Suki Webster, Adam Kay with his award-winning This is Going to Hurt, and the hit comedy podcast Drunk Women Solving Crime. Concerts and gigs are plentiful with folk-rock favourites Lindisfarne, violinist Braimah Kanneh-Mason, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, singer-songwriter Rumer, soul legend Ruby Turner and MOBO nominee Ayanna Witter-Johnson. Our Books & Ideas programme features writers, thinkers and personalities including Celia Imrie, novelist Elif Shafak, poet laureate Simon Armitage, historians Simon Sebag Montefiore and Dan Jones, broadcaster Mary Portas, economist Daniel Susskind and artist David Shrigley. Family fun is guaranteed with the Festival’s second Family Takeover at the Malthouse Theatre (31 Oct), as well as lots of Half Term events including sensory experiences for toddlers, family theatre, circus and free activities for all ages.
