Chase & Status Release Generic Everything With Little Simz, J Hus, Skrillex and More
Chase & Status have released Generic Everything, their new 10-track album featuring one of the most stacked guest lists in British electronic music this year.
The record is out today, 9 October 2026, and brings together J Hus, Little Simz, Skrillex, Giggs, D Double E, Blanco, IRAH, Debbie, Col3trane and more.
On the duo’s official album page, Chase & Status describe Generic Everything as a project built around resisting creative conformity, particularly in a music world increasingly shaped by algorithms, endless content and pressure to repeat what already works.
Generic Everything refuses to stay in one genre
The album moves between drum and bass, rap, grime, rave, soundsystem culture and electronic music rather than attempting to sit neatly inside one scene.
That approach is obvious from the guest list.
J Hus and IRAH appear on opening track “Disgruntled”, while Little Simz joins the duo on “Carnage”.
Skrillex features on “Essa Ta Quente”, which brings Brazilian funk influences into the project, while Blanco and Finesse Kid appear on “Juggin’”.
D Double E takes on “Levels”, Debbie features on “Gone Too Far”, Giggs appears on “Timber”, and IRAH returns alongside Col3trane for closing track “Shutdown”.
Apple Music describes the album as a deliberate attempt to push Chase & Status outside their familiar production habits, with Saul Milton explaining that the title became a challenge not to settle into old formulas.
A huge period for Chase & Status
Generic Everything arrives after one of the most commercially successful periods of the duo’s career.
“Baddadan” became one of their biggest crossover records, spending more than 15 weeks inside the UK Top 10 and achieving Platinum status.
Then came “BACKBONE” with Stormzy, which gave Chase & Status their first ever UK Number One single.
The pair also won the BRIT Award for British Producer of the Year and expanded their live shows to arena scale, including a major takeover of Milton Keynes National Bowl.
More than two decades into their career, that momentum makes Generic Everything feel less like a comeback and more like the continuation of an unusually strong new peak.

Human instinct over algorithmic music
The title Generic Everything is intentionally provocative.
Rather than suggesting the album itself is generic, Chase & Status are taking aim at the opposite idea: creative work being pushed into predictable formats because those formats perform well online.
The result is a record that deliberately jumps between established collaborators, newer voices and musical styles that do not always sit naturally together.
That also reflects one of the duo’s long-standing strengths.
Chase & Status have spent much of their career connecting underground dance music with mainstream British rap and pop without completely abandoning the heavier club sound that first built their audience.
Chase & Status’ Generic Everything is available now on streaming services, CD and vinyl.
At a point when they could comfortably keep repeating the sound of their biggest recent hits, the new record instead makes the case for doing something less predictable.
