The Chicken Shop Date cinema finale will bring Amelia Dimoldenberg’s final series to selected UK and Irish screens on 24 November 2026. The one-night event combines all six episodes with additional material and an early showing of the last instalment before its online release.
Announced on 27 October and followed by venue details this week, Chicken Shop Date: The Final Series turns the presenter’s deliberately awkward celebrity interviews into a shared big-screen farewell. Vue has an official event listing, with its published announcement confirming the November screening.
What is in the Chicken Shop Date cinema finale?
The programme brings together the final six dates rather than presenting a separate fictional adaptation of the show. Alongside those episodes, audiences will see behind-the-scenes footage and material created especially for the cinema release.
According to Screen International’s report, the event is being organised in partnership with mk2’s YouTube Ciné-Club. Vue, Picturehouse and Curzon are among the participating exhibitors, with a screening also planned at Paris’s mk2 Bibliothèque.
The final episode is the key exclusive: cinema audiences will be able to watch it before it arrives on YouTube. The event also looks at Dimoldenberg’s decision to finish the series, moving beyond the familiar interview character to consider her relationship with the programme she created.
That gives the farewell two connected subjects. There are the last celebrity encounters themselves, but also the process of bringing a long-running creative project to a close. The additional footage is being presented as part of that reflection, rather than simply a compilation of previously released clips.
Where the screenings are taking place
The announced Vue venues are Birmingham Star City, Bristol Cribbs Causeway, Dublin Liffey Valley, Edinburgh Omni Centre, Manchester Printworks and Westfield in Shepherd’s Bush, London.
A Vue-sourced announcement published on 28 October confirms that selection and the one-night format. It also describes the screening as the first time the show has been brought to the big screen.
Screen International additionally lists Brighton’s Duke of York’s Picturehouse, Picturehouse Central in London and Curzon Soho among the venues taking part. For GlitterBeam listeners in Brighton and London, those provide further options alongside the Vue screening at Westfield.
Audiences should check the relevant cinema’s current listing for its start time, ticket availability and access information. This is a selected-venue event on a specific date, so a nearby branch of a participating chain may not necessarily be showing it.
A farewell to an unusual interview format
Dimoldenberg announced in September that she would end Chicken Shop Date after more than a decade. As Chortle reported at the time, she described the programme as her own romantic comedy and said she felt ready to move on to a new adventure.
The interview series arrived on YouTube in 2014. Its final cinema appearance brings that online history into a different setting, while keeping the original episodes central to the event.
The format’s appeal has always depended on the gap between a conventional celebrity interview and an uncomfortable first date. Deadpan questions, pauses and an everyday chicken-shop setting let guests step away from the polished surroundings normally associated with entertainment promotion.
Its guests have included musicians and screen stars, with names such as Sabrina Carpenter, Paul McCartney, Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman appearing over its run. The final series continues that crossover between music, comedy and celebrity culture. Screen International reports that the latest run features Noel Gallagher, Role Model and Jorja Smith, bringing different generations of music into the programme’s closing stretch.
The cinema release changes the setting in which fans experience those encounters while keeping the final dates at its centre. Viewers who usually watch separately will have the opportunity to see the closing chapter together, with the last episode providing a first-look ending to the evening.
Chicken Shop Date: The Final Series screens at selected cinemas on Tuesday 24 November. Venue listings are the place to confirm local details before booking.
