Glastonbury 2027 Tickets Sell Out in 42 Minutes as Spring Resale Is Confirmed

Glastonbury 2027 Tickets Sell Out in 42 Minutes as Spring Resale Is Confirmed

Glastonbury 2027 tickets have sold out in just 42 minutes, with enormous demand for the festival’s return following its 2026 fallow year.

General admission tickets went on sale at 9am on Sunday morning and by 9.42am the allocation had gone. Glastonbury confirmed that all tickets from the main sale had been sold, while reassuring unsuccessful fans that another opportunity will come next year.

The festival returns to Worthy Farm in Somerset from 23 to 27 June 2027.

Glastonbury 2027 tickets disappear in minutes

Demand was expected to be particularly intense because Glastonbury did not take place in 2026, with organisers using the year as one of the festival’s traditional breaks from staging the enormous event at Worthy Farm.

Those expectations proved correct almost immediately.

See Tickets confirmed the sellout at 9.42am, just 42 minutes after the general sale opened.

Coach and ticket packages had already demonstrated the level of demand several days earlier. Those packages went on sale on Thursday evening and disappeared in less than half an hour.

For thousands of fans, Sunday morning therefore became the final opportunity to secure a ticket before next year’s resale.

There will be another Glastonbury ticket resale

Missing out this weekend does not necessarily mean missing Glastonbury altogether.

The festival has confirmed that cancelled and returned tickets will be placed back on sale in spring 2027.

The precise date and number of tickets available will depend on how many existing bookings are cancelled or not fully paid.

Successful buyers paid a £100 deposit for each ticket during the October sale rather than the entire amount upfront.

The outstanding balance is due between 1 and 7 April 2027. Tickets from bookings that are cancelled or not completed can then return to the resale pool.

That makes the spring resale genuinely important rather than merely a token second chance, although there is no guarantee of how large the allocation will be.

Glastonbury now costs more than £400

The rush for tickets continued despite another increase in the cost of attending.

A standard Glastonbury 2027 weekend ticket costs £408, including a £5 booking fee, with postage and packing charged separately at £11.25 per order of up to six tickets.

That price covers entry from Wednesday 23 June through to Sunday 27 June.

Anyone aged 13 or over attending the festival must have their own registered ticket, while children aged 12 and under can enter without one when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.

The festival also continues to use personalised tickets carrying the photograph of the registered attendee as part of its attempt to prevent commercial ticket touting.

A different online queue this year

The buying process itself has also changed.

Rather than repeatedly refreshing a holding page, people already waiting when the sale started were randomly assigned a position in the queue.

Organisers warned customers against using multiple browser tabs, VPNs and some privacy tools because these could interfere with the ticketing system.

Glastonbury also stresses that See Tickets is the only authorised seller, with tickets bought through intermediaries liable to cancellation.

The system did not eliminate the familiar frustration of Glastonbury morning. Social media quickly filled with celebrations from successful buyers and disappointment from people who spent the entire sale watching the queue barely move.

Who is playing Glastonbury 2027?

That remains the enormous unanswered question.

No official Glastonbury 2027 line-up has been announced yet.

That means tens of thousands of people have committed more than £400 to attending before knowing a single confirmed performer.

It is hardly unusual for Glastonbury.

The festival’s reputation, atmosphere and enormous range of music have long allowed tickets to sell before the headline acts are revealed.

After a year away, that enthusiasm appears to have become even stronger.

The main batch of Glastonbury 2027 tickets may now be gone, but anyone who spent Sunday morning staring unsuccessfully at the queue has one date still to watch.

The next chance comes in spring 2027.
