Martin Garrix Announces MARTY Album With Madonna, U2 and Ed Sheeran

Martin Garrix Announces MARTY Album With Madonna, U2 and Ed Sheeran

Martin Garrix has confirmed that MARTY will arrive on 5 March 2027, setting a release date for a personal new chapter that puts his own voice alongside some of pop’s biggest names.

The 14-track project is being presented as his debut pop album, with Madonna, U2, Ed Sheeran and Aitana among the collaborators reported for the release. It follows SENTIO, the album he released under the Martin Garrix name in 2022.

The distinction matters: this is a move towards a more personal, vocal-led record from an artist whose reputation was built behind the decks. Apple Music’s official pre-release listing confirms the March date and 14-song format, with STMPD RCRDS and Darkroom Records credited.

Martin Garrix’s MARTY reaches back to his beginnings

The title comes from DJ Marty, the alias Garrix used before becoming internationally known. Rather than choosing a name that suggests a larger festival spectacle, he has returned to the identity associated with his earliest enthusiasm for making music.

The announcement also had a suitably intimate setting. EDM.com reported from the Spotify event at P60 in Amstelveen, where invited listeners heard an early preview of the project.

That venue has a connection to his early performances. A smaller room, familiar surroundings and an audience of committed listeners gave the reveal a different character from the enormous stages usually associated with his shows.

Reporting from the event describes childhood photographs and archive footage accompanying the music. The emphasis was on the person who became Martin Garrix, with the album title connecting that history to what comes next.

Why Garrix is singing on the album

One of the clearest changes is his decision to take lead vocals himself. MusicRadar reports that Garrix sings lead on four tracks, including previously released songs “Catharina” and “This Dream Of You”.

“Catharina” is a tribute to his mother, making the choice of singer part of the meaning of the song. Garrix has explained that some material felt too personal to hand to another vocalist.

He has also discussed the discomfort of moving beyond the role in which he already felt confident. Producing and writing for others gave him a familiar way to work; singing required him to present those ideas more directly.

MusicRadar’s account describes Bono offering advice on vocal delivery and technique. That relationship adds another dimension to the U2 connection, beyond simply putting a famous name on a collaboration.

Madonna, Ed Sheeran and U2 connections

The album announcement follows a run of high-profile releases. Garrix’s official music catalogue lists “Repeat It” with Ed Sheeran, “Bizarre” with Madonna and “Fireflies” with U2 among his 2026 output.

Those partnerships show how widely his music now reaches across pop. They bring together artists with different songwriting histories while keeping a dance producer at the centre of the process.

His official release catalogue also identifies “This Dream Of You” as an October release, giving listeners a recent example of the work leading into this album campaign.

Aitana was also part of the music previewed around the announcement. A complete, final track-by-track running order should not be confused with speculative lists circulating online, particularly while individual song details are still emerging.

What is confirmed for the release?

The firm details are the title, the 14-track format and the 5 March 2027 release date. The pre-release listing remains a forthcoming album, rather than a record available in full today.

DJ Mag places the project in the context of Garrix’s growth and early DJ identity, themes that help explain both its title and the more reflective presentation.

For fans, the central change is already clear. The producer is making room for his own singing and family history within a career usually defined by collaborations and huge live moments. MARTY now has a date, and a more personal voice at its centre.
