Percy Jackson season three trailer launches a quest to rescue Annabeth

Percy Jackson season three trailer launches a quest to rescue Annabeth

The new Percy Jackson season three trailer has arrived, setting up a rescue mission that takes the young demigod into the story of The Titan’s Curse. Disney+ released the preview on 2 November, ahead of the series returning on Friday 20 November 2026.

The latest chapter of Percy Jackson and the Olympians begins with two episodes. Disney’s announcement confirms that two more episodes will follow each week, giving the eight-part season a four-week release rather than the one-episode-a-week pattern viewers might expect.

Percy Jackson season three trailer puts Annabeth at the centre

According to Disney’s official trailer announcement, the new adventure begins when Annabeth Chase is captured by the forces of Kronos. Percy sets out to rescue the friend who has already helped him through two quests, with Grover once again at his side.

The rescue is only part of the challenge. Disney’s synopsis also promises a goddess in chains, unlikely travelling companions and a prophecy with potentially disastrous consequences. Percy must confront the Titan’s curse while trying to prevent the fall of Olympus.

The premise gives the new season a personal starting point before opening out into a much larger struggle. Annabeth’s absence changes the familiar friendship at the heart of the programme: Percy has to move forward without the person whose judgement and experience have been so important to his earlier adventures.

The Titan’s Curse reaches the screen

Season three adapts The Titan’s Curse, the third novel in Rick Riordan’s book series. Disney describes this as the first screen adaptation of that instalment, making it a new part of the mythology for viewers who know the franchise primarily through its screen versions.

The earlier UK announcement from D23 explained that the Great Prophecy hangs over the story. One demigod child of the Big Three is destined to determine whether Olympus rises or falls, with their own life also at stake.

That announcement introduced a season built around more dangerous trials and a growing threat from the Titans. The newly released trailer brings those ideas back into focus as the premiere approaches, without requiring viewers to know the novel’s ending.

Readers will recognise the title and broad direction of the quest. For audiences coming to the story through television, the confirmed premise is enough to establish the immediate problem: Annabeth needs rescuing, and the consequences extend far beyond the group of friends searching for her.

Returning friends and new arrivals

Walker Scobell returns as Percy Jackson, alongside Leah Sava’ Jeffries as Annabeth and Aryan Simhadri as Grover. Charlie Bushnell and Tamara Smart continue as Luke Castellan and Thalia Grace.

Disney+’s updated season guide also confirms Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie as siblings Nico and Bianca di Angelo. Their arrival brings more young demigods into a story in which family connections and divine parentage carry considerable weight.

The expanded cast includes Dafne Keen as Artemis, David Costabile as Dr. Thorn, Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite and Ming-Na Wen as Hera. Returning guest performers include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Adam Copeland and Jason Mantzoukas.

Disney’s D23 presentation also introduced Andra Day as Athena. Together, the returning cast and new performers extend the programme’s mix of young adventurers and the gods whose decisions shape their world.

When to watch in the UK

The UK announcement confirms a 20 November Disney+ launch. The platform’s season guide lists eight episodes, with the finale arriving on 11 December. Two episodes will be released on each of the four Fridays in that run.

The first two seasons are already available on Disney+. Season two followed the story of The Sea of Monsters, sending Percy on a quest involving the Golden Fleece and Grover’s rescue. Season three continues the same characters’ journey rather than beginning a separate adaptation.

The series was created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg. Steinberg, Dan Shotz and Craig Silverstein are among the executive producers named in the new announcement, with Riordan also continuing as an executive producer.

For now, the trailer offers the latest official introduction to the next quest. The two-episode premiere of Percy Jackson and the Olympians season three arrives on Disney+ on Friday 20 November.
