The reunion took place during the group’s performance at Wembley Stadium, adding an unexpected moment to Mis-Teeq’s latest return to the stage. Dixon, Washington and Nash had already reunited as a trio, but McNally’s appearance brought together all four women from the group’s earliest line-up.

McNally joined the group for a performance of “Why?”, the song that introduced Mis-Teeq to the UK charts in 2001 and featured her before she left the group later that year.

Their combination of R&B, pop and UK garage gave Mis-Teeq a distinctive place in the British charts at a time when homegrown garage was increasingly crossing into mainstream pop.

“Scandalous” became particularly enduring. Released in 2003, it reached number two on the UK Singles Chart and later helped introduce the group to audiences beyond Britain.

Mis-Teeq eventually split in 2005, with the members pursuing separate careers. Dixon went on to establish herself as a solo artist and television personality, while Washington, Nash and McNally followed their own paths away from the original group.

What makes the Wembley appearance particularly significant is McNally’s involvement.

The recent Mis-Teeq reunion has centred on Dixon, Washington and Nash, recreating the trio responsible for most of the group’s biggest records. Bringing McNally back for “Why?” instead revisited the brief opening chapter of Mis-Teeq’s history.

It also made the choice of song especially appropriate. “Why?” was not simply another hit selected for a nostalgic set. It was the record released when all four women were members of the group.

There had been no suggestion that McNally was permanently rejoining Mis-Teeq, and the Wembley appearance should not be interpreted as confirmation of a new four-member line-up. What has been confirmed is the performance itself, giving fans the unusual opportunity to see the original members sharing a stage again.

Their sound also stands apart from many of the straightforward pop reunions of the period. UK garage was embedded in Mis-Teeq’s identity, particularly through Dixon’s MC sections, alongside the R&B and pop production that helped take the songs onto mainstream radio.

Seeing Dixon, Washington and Nash performing together again already offered fans a chance to revisit that sound live.

McNally walking onto the Wembley stage added another piece of the story.
