Tinie Tempah announces first album in nine years

Tinie Tempah new album plans have been revealed, with the South London star preparing to release The Night’s Not Dead, his first full-length project in nine years.

The fourth studio album will arrive through an unusual three-part rollout. Tinie will release EPs titled 9PM, 12AM and 3AM, with the chapters later brought together alongside additional tracks for the completed album.

The night starts at 9PM

The first chapter, 9PM, is available now. It includes the new single “Heaven or Hell”, featuring Reggie, as well as the previously released “Eat It Up”, “Living Life” and “Energy”.

Each EP is designed to represent a different stage of a night out. 9PM captures the build-up: getting ready, meeting friends and wondering where the evening might lead. 12AM will move into the club itself, while 3AM is set to explore the afterparty and the conversations that happen when the pace changes.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, Tinie described the project as a celebration of the power and fun of a night out. He said he wanted to create an inclusive world that listeners could recognise and feel part of, with shared experience at the centre of the record.

His first album since Youth

The Night’s Not Dead will be Tinie’s first studio album since Youth, released in 2017. That record reached Number Nine on the Official Albums Chart and included collaborations with artists including Jess Glynne, Zara Larsson, Tinashe and Bipolar Sunshine.

His return follows one of the most successful British chart runs of the 2010s. Official Charts records 22 Top 40 singles for Tinie, including seven Number Ones. His breakthrough single “Pass Out” topped the chart in 2010, followed later that year by another Number One with “Written in the Stars”.

Further chart-toppers included “Not Letting Go” with Jess Glynne and appearances alongside Rita Ora, Cheryl and Calvin Harris. Those songs helped make Tinie a familiar presence across British radio, festival stages and dancefloors.

His debut album Disc-Overy also reached Number One and remained in the Official Albums Chart for 84 weeks. Its follow-up, Demonstration, peaked at Number Three in 2013. That history makes the nine-year wait for another complete studio album a notable break from one of UK pop’s most reliable hitmakers.

A spotlight on Britain’s nightlife

The album’s theme also connects with Tinie’s recent support for grassroots music venues. Earlier this year, he took part in the Music Venue Trust’s Everywhere At Once campaign, performing at smaller venues as the organisation highlighted the pressures facing independent stages.

Tinie told NME in May that grassroots venues had given him opportunities to develop as a performer. The new project turns that concern into a wider celebration of the places where people meet, discover music and build communities.

The concept is deliberately broader than clubbing alone. The announcement presents nightlife as a journey built from friendship, anticipation and those unpredictable moments that cannot be recreated through a screen. Further details about the 12AM and 3AM chapters are still to be announced.

The format also allows each part of the night to have its own musical identity before the chapters are combined. Rather than dropping every song at once, Tinie is giving listeners time with the build-up, the main event and the quieter hours afterwards.

UK tour dates confirmed

Tinie will take The Night’s Not Dead on tour across the UK and Europe in November and December. His official website lists UK shows in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol and London, where he will play the Roundhouse on 3 December.

The European run begins in Stockholm before visiting Copenhagen, Oslo, Cologne, Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris. The UK leg then opens at Manchester’s O2 Ritz on 27 November, followed by Leeds, Glasgow and Bristol before the London date.

The album is available to pre-order, but public listings currently show conflicting release dates. Until Tinie’s official channels settle that detail, the confirmed news is that the album is due later this year and its three-part rollout has begun with 9PM.
