After months of anticipation, yesterday was the day of the Barbie European Premiere and Barbie Mania has well and truly descended upon London.
Yesterday (Wednesday) morning, to kick start Barbies Best.Day.Ever, hundreds of fans were queuing to collect their fan pen wrist bands in Leicester Square ahead of the premiere, whilst Barbies car arrived by the London Eye, a Pink Tardis landed on the banks of Tower Bridge (celebrating the new Dr Who, Ncuti Gatwas appearance in the film) and All on the Board posted on Instagram that they were changing the name of Barbican station to Barbie Can. Illuminated pink Barbie cabs have also been seen travelling the capital this week.

In the evening, Barbie and Visit London were also illuminating London pink to celebrate Barbies Best.Day.Ever whilst the cast and filmmakers was visiting London for the European Premiere

On turning London Barbie pink, Laura Citron, CEO of Visit London commented: “Barbie is a global icon and were excited to partner with the upcoming movie Barbie to turn some of London’s iconic landmarks pink in her honour. With so much of the film shot locally at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and brought to life by a wealth of local creative talent who worked on the film, we’re proud to celebrate Londons role in what is sure to be one of the biggest films of the year.

Alexandra Lewis, Senior Vice President Marketing, Warner Bros. Discovery U.K. & Ireland, said: Barbie is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year and were proud to be partnering with Visit London to create a unique cultural moment for the film: turning the city pink! Were thrilled to be able to provide the general public with a chance to celebrate the films upcoming release in such a fun way and visit iconic landmarks in what will surely be a night to remember.
